Junior SPAG student joins UN initiative
Shamah Silvosa Bulangis, a third year Foreign Affairs student will participate in the Spotlight Civil Society Global Reference Group of the United Nations (UN) anytime soon. Although no specific date has been set yet, Bulangis was selected last May 10 out of nearly 300 applicants around the world.
The Spotlight Civil Society Global Reference Group, consisting of 20 members, represents various nationalities, ethnicities, age groups, feminist activists and movement builders, and experience and expertise on women’s rights and ending violence against women and girls. The group will play a key role in guiding and advising the Spotlight Initiative, a global, multi-year partnership between European Union and UN to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls by 2030.
