Palanca-winning Filipino-American Writer to Talk on the Art of the Filipino Essay

Catch the Palanca-winning Filipino-American creative nonfictionist WILFREDO PASCUAL talk on “The Art of the Personal Essay at the 931st Kilometer Stop” on MARCH 22, Wednesday, for the Albert Faurot Lecture Series! The talk, which will also feature a reading from Mr. Pascual’s new book, Kilometer Zero, will begin at 5:30 PMat the University House.

Wilfredo Pascual, author of Kilometer Zero and recipient of the 2017 Ani ng Dangal for Literary Arts, is an award-winning essayist in the Philippines and the United States. He has won grand prizes at the Palanca twice and the Philippines Free Press Literary Awards. In the US, he received a Creative Nonfiction scholarship to Breadloaf and attended New York University’s Summer Intensive Creative Writing Program. He is a Pushcart-nominated essayist, a runner-up to the Steinberg Essay Prize, and winner of the 2015 Curt Johnson Prose Award for Nonfiction. He grew up in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija and currently lives with his husband Jack in San Francisco, California.
