President & CEO of Shell Philippines to speak at the 109th Commencement

Silliman University (SU) alumna Lorelie Quiambao-Osial, the first Filipina to be appointed President and CEO of Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (PSPC), will serve as the speaker for the 109th Commencement Exercises on June 12-13, 2022 at the SU Gymnasium.

Quiambao-Osial graduated from SU with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, cum laude.

Aside from being the President and CEO of PSPC, she is also the Country Chair of Shell Companies in the Philippines and the Vice President for Global Finance Operations-Expenditure in Shell Shared Services (Asia) BV.

She is known as a global leader in the energy industry, having been based in various countries for Shell plc. and is an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion and digital transformation.

Career

She manages five major processes covering Shell businesses in more than 50 countries and supports 80,000 employees globally as the Vice President for Global Finance Operations-Expenditure.

Previously, she served as the Finance Director for Shell Philippines Exploration B.V., the operator of Malampaya Deepwater-to-Gas Project that provides natural gas to power plants that supply 25% of the energy needs of the country.

She was also the Finance Manager Projects for Basrah Gas Company (BGC) in Iraq, the world’s largest flare reduction project, where she led the start-up and provision of world-class Finance to a portfolio of approximately 80 projects with a USD 17 billion capital investment in a pioneering environment and one of the toughest external environments within the Shell portfolio.

Advocacy

Quiambao-Osial is also actively involved in her chosen advocacies.

She sponsors the Gender Balance Network in the SciP and represents the Philippines in the Asian Talent Council, and sponsors digital transformation in the areas of process mining, digital process twin and artificial intelligence automated audit and risk management solutions, democratization of technology and skills for the future.

She is also the President of Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc., the social arm of SciP, a 40-year foundation with programs on Livelihood, Education, Health and Safety, Environment, Energy, Nutrition and Food Security in the country.
Moreover, she serves as a Board of Trustee of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF).

A certified public accountant, she also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Australia.
