Salonga Center conducts relief ops for Typhoon Odette victims
The Dr. Jovito R. Salonga Center for Law and Development of Silliman University, one of the first units in the University that responded to the needs of communities affected by Typhoon Odette, conducted relief operations in the municipalities of Ayungon, Tayasan, Bais City, La Libertad, Bindoy, Tanjay City, and Manjuyod from December 19, 2021 to January 14, 2022.
The Center distributed relief goods in the following areas:
- Brgy. Kilaban, Ayungon, December 19, 2021
- Municipalities of Ayungon and Tayasan, December 21, 2021
- Brgy. San Jose, Bais City, December 22 and 24, 2021 with the help of Fatima Alsowyed and Kyle Balansag, a student of SU College of Law
- Municipality of Tayasan, with the help of Willie Boy Villegas, December 22, 2021
- Municipality of La Libertad, December 29, 2021, with the help of former SU Alumni Office director, Jocelyn dela Cruz
- Sitio Odiongan, Brgy. Novallas, Tanjay City, December 30, 2021
- Municipalities of Bindoy and Manjuyod, January 9 and 11-14, 2022
- Brgy. Manlipac, Bais City, January 11-14, 2022
