Silliman Hosts 2017 PAGE Regional Convention

The Philippine Association for Graduate Education (PAGE) Annual Regional Convention will be held in Silliman University, as plenary speakers, paper presenters and members of the Central Visayas academe gather together on April 27 to 29.

This year’s theme, “Research Collaboration in the ASEAN Context” will discuss pure and applied research, and research and publication in the ASEAN context, issues and concerns in graduate education, among others in the convention’s plenary sessions.

Graduate Studies Department heads and professors from all over Region VII will convene at the Audio Visual Theater 1 and Multipurpose Room of the University’s Instructional Media and Technology Center to also impart their parallel paper presentation.

Silliman President Dr. Ben S. Malayang III delivered the keynote speech during the convention’s opening program.

The dean of the Silliman Graduate Programs, Dr. Enrique G. Oracion, will also be one of the plenary speakers. Dr. Oracion will tackle the topic: “Locating the Anthropological in a Multidisciplinary Research Program on Ecosystem and Disasters.”
