Silliman University names new deans and directors

Silliman University has announced the appointment of ten new academic heads – four deans and six directors – effective June 2019.

The new deans are Dr. Batchiba R. Lacdo-o, for the College of Education; Dr. Maria Lorena L. Tuballa, College of Engineering and Design; Dr. Madeline B. Quiamco, College of Mass Communication, and Dr. Elizabeth Susan Vista-Suarez, College of Performing and Visual Arts. Meanwhile the new academic directors are Prof. Evelyn S. Fajardo, for the Institute of Clinical Laboratory Services; Dr. Janet S. Estacion, Institute of Environmental and Marine Sciences; Dr. Lily Ann D. Bautista, Institute of Rehabilitative Sciences; Dr. Beulah Rose R. Torres, Office of Instruction; Prof. Emervencia L. Ligutom, Extension Programs, and Dr. Myra E. Villanueva, University Library.

Their appointment was announced by Dr. Earl Jude Cleope, SU vice president for academic affairs, during the Deans’ Conference April 30. According to VPAA Cleope, the new deans and directors and the incumbent heads of the university’s colleges, institutes, schools, programs, and academic units have been appointed for a period of three academic years, from June 2019 to May 2022.
