Social Work alumna named 2023 Outstanding Professional of the Year by PRC

Atty. Mary Fokno-Capuyan, a 1976 graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Social Work program of Silliman University (SU), has been named 2023 Outstanding Professional of the Year in the field of Social Work by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

The Outstanding Professional of the Year award is the highest recognition that can be given by the PRC to professionals for demonstrating professional competence of the highest degree and integrity in exercising their profession, as recommended by their peers. The award also recognizes the professionals’ meaningful participation in activities through the PRC, significant contribution to advancing their profession, and effective demonstration of social responsibility through personal or professional engagement in social-related activities.

Fokno-Capuyan will receive the award in a ceremony on December 10, 2023 in Metro Manila.

Last September 2023, Fokno-Capuyan also received a 2023 Outstanding Social Worker of the Philippines award from the Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc.
