SU appoints Atty. Ebenezer Y. Lim as Interim VP for Finance and Operations

Silliman University (SU) appointed Atty. Ebenezer Y. Lim as the Interim Vice President for Finance and Operations, as announced by a memorandum from the SU President’s Office, February 27, 2023.

Lim also currently serves as president of the SU Alumni Association, Inc. – Dumaguete Chapter; president of Pastoral Training of Asia; vice president of the Gideons International – Dumaguete Camp; chairman of the DGTE. BJB Marketing Corporation; and a founding partner of the EDLAW Office in Dumaguete City.

In SU, Lim formerly served as the vice president for finance and administration from 1991-1992; executive vice president in 1986; vice president for corporate planning in 1985; College of Business Administration dean in 1984; Master of Business Administration program director; consultant; and faculty member.

Outside SU, Lim held the following leadership positions: chancellor of Foundation University; president of the Bacong Arrastre and Stevedoring Company, Inc.; president of the SG-Bank – A Rural Bank, Inc.; director and corporate secretary of the Dumaguete Coconut Mills, Inc.; executive vice president of the Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry; professorial chair of the SGV Foundation; branch manager of CALPHIL, Inc.; and general manager of Amniphil Heritage Manufacturing Company, Inc.

He was also the national treasurer of Gideon International; president of the Dumaguete (Host) Lions Club; zone chairman of Zone II, Region IX and region chairman of Region IX for the International Association of Lions Club, District 301-B, Philippines.

Lim also served as the finance officer for the Environmental Advocacy on Solutions and Technologies (EAST), Inc.; a partner in the Maxino, Empleo, Lim & Timtim Law Office; and a member of the People’s Law Enforcement Board of Dumaguete City.

A Sillimanian, Lim graduated from SU with a Bachelor of Business Administration, cum laude, in 1973; and his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Laws degrees, magna cum laude, in 1979. Lim was an honor student throughout his student years at SU and received University Honors as a law student. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1980.

He completed his Master in Business Management degree in 1983 at the Asian Institute of Management as a Brother Gabriel Connon Scholar.

He was recognized in 2018 by the SU College of Law with an Outstanding SU Law Alumni Association, Inc. (SULAW) Award.

Lim’s CV also mentions that he was featured in the International Who’s Who of Finance and Industry, and Professionals.
