SU CMC to host events for SU Founders Day
The Silliman University (SU) College of Mass Communication is holding three events back-to-back-to-back on Thursday, August 22, 2024 to celebrate SU’s 123rd founding anniversary.
2nd Ireneo & Asuncion Maslog Essay-Writing Contest
CMC will launch the 2nd Ireneo and Asuncion Maslog Essay Writing Contest at the Multipurpose Room (MPR).
Cash prizes await the grand winner, first runner-up, and five consolation winners of the essay writing contest. The grand winner will also be given tuition fee credits for the second semester of School Year 2024–2025.
The contest is open to mass communication students from Silliman University who meet the specified grade requirements and submit the needed documents. This will be the second time the essay writing contest will be held. The inaugural version was held last year with Ria Askin, then-senior SU CMC student, winning the grand prize for her essay titled, “Editors’ Exodus: The Advent of AI-Generated News.”

Maslog, a pioneer of the Silliman Medical Technology Program.
