Silliman University College of Business Administration (SU-CBA) faculty member, Asst. Prof. Lou Shien Ban P. Granaderos, and SU-CBA student, Alexandra Kaye Tuale won major awards at the 2024 Marketing Education Summit held online via Zoom on April 6 and 13, 2024.

Granaderos was recognized by the Council of Marketing Education as one of the Outstanding Marketing Educators in Visayas for 2024 for her commitment to educating future marketers.

Meanwhile, Tuale bagged the Outstanding Student Award for her innovative marketing strategies, which she presented with her mentor.

The Marketing Education Transformation (MET) Summit was a nationwide gathering of marketing experts, educators, and students from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, organized by the Council of Marketing Educators (CME), in partnership with the Technological Institute of the Philippines-Quezon City Junior Marketing Association and St. Scholastica College Junior Marketing Association.

With the theme, “Marketing Education Transformation (MET) Encompass Both Traditional and Digital Strategies in the New Normal,” the summit aimed to provide a platform for educators, mentors, mentees, and students to exchange insights and experiences in navigating the transformation of marketing strategies; showcase innovative research and practices in marketing education, encompassing both traditional and digital approaches; recognize outstanding contributions and achievements in marketing education; and inspire and motivate educators, students, and industry professionals to continue striving for excellence in marketing education.

The summit was divided into three parts. The first part included engaging discussions on various topics, including Trannovation Marketing, Digital Marketing Skills, and Cross Functional Skills. The second part was devoted to the mentor-mentee presentations. The last part was an asynchronous session that allowed participants to revisit key insights and reflections shared during the event.

Fifty students from SU-CBA attended the summit. Seven members of SU Junior Marketing Association were mentee presenters.
