SU holds 3rd Midyear Graduation
Silliman University (SU) held its third Midyear Baccalaureate Service and Commencement Exercises last July 30, 2023, 3:00 p.m. at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium.
Among the graduates, 14 graduated magna cum laude while 45 graduated cum laude.
Atty. Fema Christina Q. Piramide-Sayson, a trustee of SU and a director of the SU Medical Center Foundation, Inc., served as the commencement speaker.
Piramide-Sayson, a CPA lawyer, advised graduates to strive for excellence, be proactive, never stop learning, be a responsible person, have integrity, be grateful for everything, and never stop praying.
“Doing what you have to do and avoiding things you should not do will most likely lead you to graduate in life with honors. I cannot help but emphasize this important rule: Do not live beyond your means. It is one of the most stressful and destructive forms of living. Proverbs 21:20 warns us, ‘There is desirable treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man squanders it,’” she said in her commencement speech.
The event was livestreamed on the SU Facebook page, where its recording can also be replayed.
The midyear term replaced the summer term since S.Y. 2020-2021.
The SU Board of Trustees, administration officials, faculty, and staff congratulate the following honorees and graduates, based on the list provided by the Office of the Registrar and Admissions:
