SU “Lights Off” for Earth Hour
Consistent with its advocacy for the environment, Silliman will be switching off its lights on March 25, from 8:30PM to 9:30PM in celebration of Earth Hour.
Lights in all buildings and residences as well as campus street lights will be turned off during this period.
Earth Hour, an hour-long event spearheaded by the World Wide Fund for Nature, famously started the lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. The movement, now on its 10th year, is supported by more than 172 countries and territories worldwide.
Since 2010, the University has been supporting the call to protect Mother Earth and the need for action on climate change.
