SU produces 21 certified public accountants
Silliman University (SU) produced 21 certified public accountants (CPAs) who passed the May 2023 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the results last May 31, 2023.
Dr. Wilma Milo Tejero-Libarios, College of Business Administration (CBA) dean, congratulated the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) program graduates who are now CPAs.
“More strategies are being implemented by the CBA to improve the Accountancy program. One of these is the continued faculty development program of CBA by sending our accountancy professors to conferences and training sessions so they may have a forum to discuss ideas, best practices, cutting-edge teaching techniques, and the most recent developments in this rapidly changing accounting landscape,” said Tejero-Libarios.
The CBA dean also said they added two new requirements to the admission and retention policies at the Accounting Department, which are the written exam that applicants must take between June and July 2023, and a panel interview with members of the BSA Admission Committee.
“(The new admission requirements) will be applied for new and transfer applicants to the Silliman BSA Program beginning with the school year 2023-2024,” she added.
