SUAA NY-NJ chapter holds Spooky Halloween Fundraiser

The Silliman University Alumni Association New York-New Jersey (SUAANYNJ) chapter recently hosted the Spooky Halloween Costume Fundraiser on November 9, 2024, at the residence of Jussel and Janette Abella on South Delaware Drive, Nyack, New York.

This event was part of the chapter’s activities leading up to its 50th Anniversary Gala on December 14, 2024, at the Terrace On The Park in Queens, NY. The gala, themed “Celebrating Legacy, Building Unity, and Empowering the Future,” will feature the induction of the chapter’s Executive Council.

The Halloween fundraiser featured a costume contest with cash prizes for the most creative, best-prepared, and most meaningful costumes. The top prize went to couple, Cecil Duyongco Madamba and Raymond Madamba. Lani Ratunil Paw claimed second place, while “Hippie” Doreen Scott earned third place. The cash prizes were generously sponsored by Eppielyn Ebarle Villegas.

The SUAANYNJ chapter continues to demonstrate its unwavering support for Silliman University through various initiatives, including scholarships and contributions to the University’s Calamity and Response Program. These efforts embody the chapter’s commitment to making a positive impact within the Silliman community.
