French Embassy Eyes More Student Exchange Scholars from Silliman

Two officials of the French Embassy in Manila were in Silliman University on July 5 to discuss more partnership opportunities between Silliman and French universities, especially in the area of student exchange.

Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs Mr. Yves Zoberman (second from left) and Higher Education Attaché Mr. Jules Leconte (rightmost) met with Silliman Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Betsy Joy B. Tan (first from left) and Vice President for Development Prof. Jane Annette L. Belarmino. They expressed the interest of the French Embassy to encourage more Silliman students to pursue student exchange in France and avail of their scholarship program.

The Universite Catholique de Lille is the University’s partner in France. A memorandum of agreement has been signed recently, covering terms including student exchange.

Also tackled was the possible partnership of Silliman University with two more French universities within this school year.
