Student recruitment goes online

The student recruitment campaign of Silliman University (SU) reached senior high school students through online school fairs organized by various schools across the country and abroad.

SU Student Recruitment Officer Yolanda V. Maxino and Marketing Assistant Krystle Joyce M. Ozoa, who lead the campaign, introduced SU to students of the following schools in their online events: the International Philippine School in Al-Khobar, September 18, 2020 during their Career Orientation; Dole Philippines School in South Cotabato, November 12, 2020 during their Career Orientation; La Salle College of Antipolo, St. Mary’s Academy of Pasay, Stella Maris College of Quezon City, Divine Light Academy-Las Piñas City, and Divine Light Academy-Bacoor on November 6-7 and November 10-11, 2020 during the Career Expedition and Career Clinics organized by GuidanceNGO.

For the Career Clinics, the team coordinated with SU faculty members to lecture on their field of expertise: Dr. Janet Estacion on Environmental Science; Dr. Pablina Cadiz on Marine Biology; and Asst. Prof. Serlyn Esquierdo-Sanson on Social Work.

The recruitment team also sent marketing materials in the asynchronous, online Career Month Celebration of St. Scholastica’s Academy of Bacolod which started November 1, 2020.

Students who are members of the SU Corps of Campus Ambassadors also joined the student recruitment team in promoting SU. The campus ambassadors talked about the 5C’s of

Silliman Education and shared their own experience as a student in SU.

The team will be participating in more upcoming online events to promote the University.
