Silliman University Administration today (October 13) received information that five (5) of its personnel were exposed to a COVID-19 positive patient. The said personnel were immediately isolated and contact tracing is now being undertaken.
Under the existing protocols, those who have 1st and 2nd generation exposures are advised to go on self-isolation. First (1st) generation exposure pertains to individuals who have direct exposure to a covid-19 positive patient, while 2nd generation exposure pertains to those who have been exposed to a 1st generation individual.
Because of this development, all face-to-face meetings on campus are to be deferred until further notice.
The University’s Covid-19 Crisis Management Group is currently addressing this matter in coordination with city and provincial health officials.
All university employees are reminded to observe all health protocols including the wearing of face mask/shield, observance of social distancing, and washing of hands always.
