Agriculture professor presents 2 papers at Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists convention
Dr. Michaelito A. Naldo, an associate professor at Silliman University (SU) College of Agriculture, presented technical papers on the role of nutritionists in an environment-friendly animal feed industry and sustainable production and feeding of native chickens at the 36th Annual Convention of the Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists (PHILSAN), on October 5, 2023 in Parañaque, Metro Manila.
Naldo, a member of PHILSAN since 1989, was one of the 14 local and international experts who presented at the convention held in Okada Manila.
Naldo presented his technical paper titled, “Towards an Environment-Friendly Animal Feed Industry: The Role of the Nutritionist” during the convention’s plenary session. He presented his second paper titled, “Sustainable Production and Feeding of Native Chickens in the Philippines” during a breakout session on “Resiliency & Sustainability.”
Naldo said he will also submit his technical papers for publication in scientific journals.
Held annually, the PHILSAN convention gathers animal nutritionists, partners, and supporters of the animal industry to provide technical seminars on the latest technologies, trends, and useful innovations needed to promote the country’s animal feed sector in particular and agriculture in general.
PHILSAN is a non-profit organization formed in 1988 by animal nutritionists in the Philippines to promote the interests of professionals who work and support the animal feed industry in the country.
PHILSAN is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and is accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission as a Continuing Professional Development provider for licensed agriculturists and veterinarians.
