Chapter SUAAFE-GABS President Visits the Alumni Affairs Office
Rose Marie Calunod Woehl, current president of the Silliman University Association of Alumni & Friends in Europe (SUAAFE-GABS), made a courtesy visit at the Silliman University (SU) Alumni and External Affairs office last February 9, 2024.
Woehl reiterated SUAAFE-GABS’ earlier invitation to SU Board of Trustees Chair, Mr. Ricardo A. Balbido, Jr.; SU President, Dr. Betty Cernol McCann; and Alumni Affairs Director, Mr. Ruben N. Bokingo, to attend the 2024 Euroflock in Valetta, Malta on October 3-6, 2024. SUAAFE-GABS, which is composed of alumni based in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, and Switzerland, is the organizer and host for the alumni gathering in Malta.

This four-day alumni gathering will include a welcome fellowship, a gala and charity night, and sightseeing of beautiful Malta, plus a side trip to Sicily.

The venue for Euroflock 2024 is the Waterfront Hotel Sliena, Valleta, Malta. Registration Fee is at €110 Euro, which includes the gala dinner. Registration deadline is on July 30, 2024. The next Euroflock will be in London in 2026.

The 2024 Euroflock will be the fourth gathering of Sillimanians in Europe. Alumni coming from the US, Australia, Philippines, and other parts of the world have made participating in the Euroflock part of their holiday calendar.
The 1st Euroflock was held in Berlin, Germany in 2014. After its success, two years later in 2016, it was held in Dublin, Ireland with Dr. Noel Jereza as the event organizer. The 3rd Euroflock was spearheaded by Grace Ada Genge of SUAAFE-GABS in Lucerne, Switzerland in 2018.
Two Euroflock gatherings scheduled in Newcastle upon Tyne in northeast England on September 11-14, 2020 and in Luxembourg on May 4-8, 2022 were both cancelled due to travel restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
