Alumni Update January 31 – February 6, 2022
Silliman nursing alumna Dr. Glenda S. Arquiza has recently come out with her latest book entitled, “CoVID: Collaborative Virtual Instructional Designs for Teaching and Learning Nursing,” published by the International Center Advanced Review and Training (ICART) Inc. Dr. Arquiza co-authors this book with Ray A. Gapuz, Jr.
This guidebook advocates for the use social network sites (SNSs) as a teaching and learning tool. SNSs are readily available and most learners are familiar with their features. This and other advantages will help accelerate the learning curve of learners on the use of technology in teaching and learning.
The teaching and learning strategies presented in this book are an excellent guide to transform and empower nurse educators to be aligned with the mindset of today’s learners and the principles of creating technology-enhanced learning environments.
Dr. Arquiza was Chair of the Professional Regulatory Board of Nursing (August 23, 2017 – November 5, 2020). Under her watch, the Professional Regulation Commission awarded the 2019 Most Outstanding Professional Regulatory Board to the Professional Regulatory Board of Nursing. She is an experienced nursing faculty member and administrator. Dr. Arquiza finished her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Silliman University in 1972, her Master of Arts in Nursing from the Philippine Women’s University, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Education from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. She presents and consults extensively on nursing curriculum revision, continuing professional development, and Outcomes-Based Education (OBE).
