Fashion Designer Amir Sali hits the fashion runway with his latest creations
Silliman alumnus and European-trained Filipino designer Amir Sali in partnership with the Rotary Club of Makati Ayala Triangle, , showcased his creations through a benefit show for street children last September 24, 2022, at the Okada Manila Grand Ballroom.
The Rotary Club of Makati Ayala Triangle, led by President Marilyn de Mesa, Charter President Prescy Yulo, Past President Melanie Sarmiento-Omar, and President-Elect Cecilia Asprec, organized the benefit fashion show for the street children of Tuloy Foundation.
The fashion show entitled, “Pilipinas Now,” showcased the creations of Amir Sali, a renowned designer, who has perfected the art of beadwork, hence the moniker ‘Prince of Beads’. Amir’s generosity has always benefited the less fortunate in his fashion shows.
Amir worked for 17 years in Egypt and Saudi Arabia and among his clientele were members of the Middle East royal family and elite. He graduated from Silliman University High School in 1982 with a fellow batch mate, Los Angeles-based fashion designer, Alexis Monsanto.
