Architecture Students Bag Awards in 24th UAPSA National Congress
Sillimanians from the College of Engineering and Design – Architecture Department garnered awards during the 24th United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA) on May 18 to 20 in Baguio City.
Fifth year Architecture student Robert Banse, together with third years Joachim Pia Castillo and Sofia Trinidad, emerged as champion in the Quiz Bee competition.
Third years Chris Angelo Zerna and Camille Louise Marie Alcantara also placed first in Fashion Design, while fifth years Misaki Shirabi, Arlene Dominique Uy, and Allibert Tan ranked third in Architectural Interior Design Model Making. John Victor Gonzaga also placed third in the Spoken Poetry category.
Other delegates from Silliman were: Jerrymar Jamilla (for Photography) and Ma. Celina Saavedra, the Miss UAPSA Area C.
UAPSA in an arm and junior partner of United Architects of the Philippines (UAP – IAPOA), the integrated and accredited professional organization of architects in the Philippines. Its purpose is to motivate and install discipline among architectural students and to propagate the goals and aspirations of all architects.
This years UAPSA National Congress revolved around the theme: Milenyo: “Kulturang Pilipino, Sinaunang Etniko, Bagong Milenyo.”
