COPVA, CAC hosts Kodaly Seminar Workshop
The College of Performing and Visual Arts in cooperation with the University’s Culture and Arts Council organized the Kodaly Seminar Workshop held on November 16-17, 2017 at the Silliman Hall.
The Kodaly approach believes that the voice is the most accessible of all instruments which makes it most suitable for musical instruction and can lead to a highly developed musical ear. By focusing on learning through engaging with music, singing, playing, moving and enjoying, music becomes part of the natural learning process.
Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH), Special Program for the Arts (SPA), & K-12 Arts and Design Track teachers are invited to participate in the event with the mission to upgrade the quality of music education in the Philippines through the use of the 21st century music pedagogy of the Kodaly approach.
Resource persons for the said event are Outstanding Sillimanian Awardee in the field of Ethnomusicology Priscilla Magdamo-Abraham and Kodaly Philippines President Daisy Marasigan.
