SU Library goes virtual; offers online services, activities
Silliman University (SU) sets up its virtual library to cater to students who are unable to visit the SU Library, which will be open starting May 6, 2020.
The SU Virtual Library is a website that offers services such as an online resources directory for research needs; online public access catalog of the library’s collection; online reservation for library facilities and gadgets; a chatbox where students can send their inquiries, concerns, and library-related requests; and an online bulletin where subscribers can get weekly updates on references, news, periodicals, and other announcements.
Students can also participate in other online activities offered by the SU Virtual Library, including weekly e-games, webinars, and online polls.
Last April 29, the SU Library launched the Library eTalks webinar series featuring experts from SU to talk about relevant topics for students staying at home while the quarantine is in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Participants of the webinar, held every Wednesday until May 20, will receive digital certificates of attendance.
Aside from the website, the SU Library also has a virtual room accessible through the Silliman Online University Learning (SOUL) website moderated by SU librarians.
