Silliman University (SU) partnered with Smart Communications, Inc. to give free prepaid pocket WiFi bundles to 100 scholars. The bundles were turned over August 27. 2020 at Oriental Hall.
The Office of Student Services (OSS), headed by Dr. Edna Gladys T. Calingacion, is in charge of distributing the bundles to the scholars.
Calingacion said they chose the scholars who are most in need of financial assistance.

“We are trying to close the gap between gadget availability and connectivity,” said Calingacion.
Calingacion said the OSS plans to deliver the pocket WiFi bundles to scholars living in Dumaguete City, Sibulan, and Bacong. As for scholars outside those areas, she said they plan to coordinate with alumni in other parts of the Philippines who can help distribute the bundles.
