SU signs MOU with UPLB
Silliman University (SU), through the Office of Community Engagement and Service-Learning (OCESL), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) on December 7, 2023, at UPLB, Laguna.
In the MOU, SU and UPLB agreed to develop collaborative activities in the academic areas of interest based on equality and reciprocity, such as exchange of faculty and researchers; exchange of students; conduct of collaborative research and extension projects, lectures, symposia, capacity-building programs; exchange of academic information and materials; and promotion of other academic cooperation as mutually agreed.

Real, SU OCESL community development officer; Dr. Jose V. Camacho, Jr., UPLB chancellor; Prof. Rowena DT. Baconguis, UPLB College of Public Affairs and Development dean; Prof. Elpidio M. Agbisit, Jr., UPLB College of Agriculture and Food Science dean; Assoc. Prof. Lilia M. Fernando-Corpuz, UPLB College of Agriculture and Food Science associate dean for research and extension; Prof. Greg T. Pawilen, UPLB Office for Institutional Development in Higher Education director; Assoc. Prof. Jenielyn T. Padrones, UPLB Office for Institutional Development in Higher Education program coordinator; Asst. Prof. Samantha Geraldine G. Delos Santos, UPLB College of Public Affairs and Development assistant to the dean; Asst. Prof. Aileen V. Lapitan, UPLB College of Public Affairs and Development Center for Strategic Planning and Policy Studies director; Assoc. Prof. Agustin L. Arcenas, UPLB College of Public Affairs and Development Community Innovations and Studies Center director; and Asst. Prof. Maria Luz L. Malabayabas, UPLB College of Public Affairs and Development Knowledge Management Office head.
The MOU signing was part of the activities of OCESL’s benchmarking trip to UPLB and other universities in Manila.
