Alumni Update November 9 – 15, 2020
A Grand Plant Sale of the Silliman Alumni Dumaguete Chapter is scheduled for two consecutive Saturdays, starting tomorrow, November 14, and the following Saturday, November 21, 2020, from 9 AM to 5 PM at the Silliman University Gate of Service, fronting the Dumaguete Pier. This plant sale is to help raise funds to complete the James W. Chapman Room at the Sillman University Heritage Museum located on the second floor of the Silliman Hall. The Dumaguete Alumni Chapter is inviting alumni and friends as well as plant enthusiasts and collectors to come and support this fundraiser project. Those who wish to donate plants may do so by bringing their plants at the SU Gate of Service fronting the Dumaguete pier. For further inquiry on the plant sale, you may email [email protected].
The first project of the Silliman Alumni Dumaguete Chapter at the SU Heritage Museum is the Laura Hibbard Heritage Room which had its soft opening last August 10, 2020, in celebration of the historic arrival of the Silliman University’s powerful founding parents, David and Laura Hibbard. The Dumaguete Chapter hopes to showcase American missionaries that have contributed to the rich heritage of Silliman.
